On Sunday the 24th of April I had the pleasure of showing off Shire Thrift at Caringbah Markets. These markets typically host around 200 vendors selling various goods from 7am till 1pm.
It was my first time taking Shire Thrift into a market environment. Previously I have only sold items online. This change from hiding behind a computer, to heading out into the world in front of customers made me quite nervous.
After the initial nerves passed I really got into the day and loved every minute of it. I loved chatting to customers about my products and the history of each item. I got a huge amount of satisfaction from hearing that the collection was unique and not something customers expected from the markets.
My favourite quote which i heard from various women was "My Husband/Kids would love this, I wish I brought them along"
After all was said and done we had around 40 sales including some high ticket items of over $100.
We will be back next month with a different selection of items based on what customers liked from our last market. I will also be changing it up and bringing some new stuff to test the waters on.
Thanks to all those who came and said Hi, I hope to see you there next time.
